Montessori Children’s House of the West Coast

Montessori Children’s House of the West Coast (MCH), is a unique and joyful Montessori preschool in San Francisco. The Montessori method is rooted in a deep respect for children’s natural desire to learn and celebrates the distinct qualities of each child.

What is Montessori?

The goal of Montessori is to provide a nurturing and inspiring learning environment that encourages children to explore freely and at their own pace.

What Makes MCH Special?

Step into our classrooms and you will find a space where parents, teachers, and staff work together to provide a safe, vibrant, and harmonious environment.

How can I learn more?

Join us for a tour! Tours provide an opportunity to observe our classrooms, talk with teachers, and meet with the Director and current MCH parents.

“Our two kids have absolutely loved MCH! It has been remarkable to watch their transformation from little kids to thriving human beings with growing confidence, independence, and curiosity. The teachers and staff are incredibly experienced and caring, and the school is well-run. Another thing that we love about MCH is the community: we had no idea we’d meet so many wonderfully supportive parents and siblings and make so many new friends for life.”
— Kirsti, MCH Parent

  • Children must be 2 years and 10 months old to enroll at MCH. If your child turns 2 years and 10 months after the official start of the school year at the end of August, you can enroll for that school year and will be invited to attend all school events before your child starts in the classroom. Tuition is required to hold your child’s place for the school year.

  • All MCH programs are 5 days per week. Consistent attendance allows the child to internalize the routines of the day and increases their ability to be independent throughout the school day. We do offer a range of programs that vary in length of day. The shortest program runs from 8 - 11:30 am, and the longest program runs from 8 am - 5:30 pm.

  • Our students attend a variety of public, independent, and parochial schools after completing their time at MCH. Click here to learn more about our Kindergarten Readiness programming and see a list of where some of our students have gone after MCH!
