Extended Day Program (3:00 - 5:30 pm)

After 3:00 pm, children may participate in the extended day program for a variety of play-based activities in the sun-filled “Bunny Room.” They are joined by “Houdini,” the school bunny. Our two Extended Day teachers provide a nurturing and restful program in a Montessori environment for the children who stay for a longer day. Healthy snacks are provided each afternoon.

In the Bunny Room, children might involve themselves in a special art project, or help with measuring and mixing for a cooking project. Many children like to gather around the teachers for a story, while others relax with books in the pillow-filled, custom-designed playhouse. Yoga or creative movement with scarves and musical instruments is another popular activity. Parents are invited to join in their children’s activities when they arrive. The Bunny Room provides a peaceful transition from the classroom to home, and is a wonderful environment in which to finish the school day.
