Preschool & Pre-K
In an effort to support today’s working parents, MCH offers both half- and full-day programs, as well as extended-care, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. All MCH programs are five days a week.
Between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. parents are welcome to join their children in the classroom. At 8:30 a.m., the Montessori classroom time begins and all children (three-, four-, and five-year olds) work together exploring activities they find most compelling. Children are free to work in large and small groups or independently while teachers provide planned and opportunistic lessons.
Yellow program (3-year olds) 8:00-11:30 a.m. Children participate in the full morning program, including Circle time, and are dismissed daily just before lunch.
Red program (3/4 year olds) 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Children participate in the full morning program and also stay for lunch and park play. They are dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
Blue program (3/4 year olds) 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Upon returning from park play, children retreat for supervised nap or quiet rest until 2:45 p.m. They are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. or, if enrolled, transition to the Extended Day program.
Green program (4/5 year olds) 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Upon returning from park play children return to the classroom for a short rest and then delve more deeply into classroom work. They are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. or, if enrolled, transition to the Extended Day program.
Extended Day Program: All ages (3:00 to 5:30 p.m.)
The Extended Day program offers a variety of play-based activities in the sun-filled “Bunny Room.” Children play games, engage in art projects, build with blocks, gather around a teacher for a story, or relax with books on their own. A variety of extracurricular enrichment activities are also offered onsite from 3:15 to 4:00 p.m. These include Spanish, Music, Gymnastics, Soccer, Yoga, and PlayBall.
Parents may select to enroll in the Extended Day Program with pick-up options of 4:00, 5:00 or 5:30 p.m. Healthy snacks are provided each afternoon.
